The way we see it, crafting should be an enjoyable, confidence-boosting experience for everyone. That’s why Nakisah puts so much care into engineering our kits to look amazing, no matter your skill level. So dive right in – we know you’re going to create something you’ll be proud to show off!
Absolutely! Making stuff with your own two hands is at the core of our mission here at WowCraftLab. We’re all about making creativity as accessible as possible, which is why we design our DIY kits to look amazing no matter your skill level.
Don’t worry if you’re brand new to crafting – we’ve got your back every step of the way. Each of our kits comes with super detailed, easy-to-follow instruction guides and video tutorials. We break down the process into simple, straightforward steps so you can just dive right in and start creating.
The truth is, our projects are engineered to be fun and satisfying for complete beginners. You’re going to be shocked by how impressive the end result turns out, even if you’ve never picked up a glue gun before! So go ahead, give it a try – we know you’re going to love the sense of pride and accomplishment you feel when you complete your very first WowCraftLab creation.
Believe it or not, even if you’re a seasoned crafter, you’re still going to have a total blast with our kits. The thing is, projects like latch hooking and moss art are a great way for skilled makers to slow down, relax, and do something a little more mindful.
Sure, you might be used to counting stitches or whipping up intricate patterns. But sometimes it’s nice to just dive into a simpler, more meditative craft that still lets you feel productive. Our kits are perfect for those moments when you need a creative breather from your main hobby.
Plus, we’ve got loads of customers who are total craft pros, and they still love doing a WowCraftLab kit every now and then. There’s just something so soothing and satisfying about the process, even if you’re a total expert. So go ahead, give it a try – we have a feeling you’re going to be pleasantly surprised.
New to the whole crafting thing? Start with one of our Latch-Hooking kits!
These are about as foolproof as it gets. There’s only one simple technique to learn, so we can practically guarantee even total beginners will be able to make an awesome fluffy rug or cushion…except maybe for newborn babies. And we’ve designed each kit to look amazing no matter your skill level, so the final product is gonna be just like those photos on our website.
Love trying new creative things? Go for a Moss kit!
These are wonderfully textural and so much fun to make. Each one includes 4-5 different weaving techniques (all with video tutorials to walk you through ’em, whew). So you’ll never get bored, and you can really put your own unique spin on the design.
Looking to pick up a skill you can use forever? Gotta go with our Embroidery kits.
Embroidery is a classic craft for a reason – it’s known all over the world and you’ve probably seen it everywhere from historical movies to the clothes you wear. These kits teach you the most common stitches so you can build a foundation to use in all kinds of future projects.
Prefer something more methodical and satisfying? Time for a Cross Stitch kit!
Cross stitch is like the more chill, easy-going sibling of embroidery. You’re just stitching tons of little ‘X’s into a pattern, almost like pixel art. The best part is once you’ve got the technique down, you don’t have to worry about perfecting every single stitch. You can just work away, following the pattern, and watch your masterpiece come together.
Our Latch-Hooking kits are great for ages 6 and up. The technique is super simple for kids to pick up – in fact, they usually get the hang of it even faster than us grown-ups! Plus, the latch hook itself isn’t sharp at all, making it perfect for little hands. And since the yarn is already pre-cut, kids don’t even need to mess with scissors.
For the Moss kits, we recommend ages 8 and up. There are a few small pieces like sewing needles and pom-pom scissors, which – while not super sharp – do still require a bit more supervision for younger kids. But the other tools, like the weaving needles and latch hooks, are safe for ages 6 and up.
Our Embroidery and Cross Stitch kits are also good for ages 8 and above. They include sewing needles and require scissors to cut the threads. Now, we have heard of kids as young as 5 or 6 getting into needle crafts like these. But we always suggest doing it with an adult around to make sure it’s 100% safe.
Absolutely! In fact, we’re real proud that our Latch-Hooking kits make a fantastic recovery gift for a loved one who’s recently been in the hospital or needs to take it easy at home. These projects are perfect for doing comfortably in bed, and the premium tools we include are way easier to work with than lower-quality stuff. Plus, latch-hooking is a super low-impact technique that’s great if someone’s dealing with reduced hand strength or grip. It’s even awesome for helping rebuild confidence and hand-eye coordination!
And the best part is, our latch-hooking kits are designed to be super forgiving. The canvas has the designs printed nice and bold, and the stitches are nice and big, so they’re perfect for someone who might have a hard time with smaller details. And even if a few mistakes sneak in, we promise the final cushion or rug is still gonna look just as amazing as the photos.
Our other kits like Moss, Embroidery, and Cross Stitch work great for recovery too, but they all have a bit of a different vibe. The Moss kits are awesome for staying entertained in bed, but they do take up a bit more space with all the different yarns and textures. And while the Embroidery and Cross Stitch kits are compact and don’t need much room, the detailed stitching does require pretty good eyesight, especially for night-time crafting. So you’ll definitely want to make sure your loved one has good lighting and maybe even some reading glasses.
The key is just picking the kit that best fits your recipient’s specific needs and preferences during their recovery. But no matter which one you choose, we know it’s gonna make them feel awesome to create something beautiful with their own two hands.
Latch-Hooking
Rug making is a super cool craft that covers all kinds of different techniques – from classic rag rugs to fancy rug tufting. But for our kits, we use a method called latch-hooking to help you create an awesome rug, no prior skills required.
The best part is, we’ve designed these kits to be as easy as can be. No messy glue, no complicated stitching – just nice, simple latch-hooking that anyone can do. It’s all about taking that fluffy yarn and looping it through the pre-printed canvas to build up the pattern. Before you know it, you’ll have a cozy new rug that looks totally professional!
So whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a total beginner, our latch-hooking kits make rug-making an absolute breeze. Just dive in, follow the instructions, and get ready to wow yourself (and all your friends) with your handiwork. Trust us, it’s a super satisfying process from start to finish.
Latch hooking is a super cool rug-making technique where you basically fill up a canvas (that’s the material you stitch on) with these cute little yarn knots. You use this special metal tool called a latch hook to make the knots. The awesome thing is, you only need to learn one simple technique to create the whole rug – no need to memorize a bunch of complicated stuff.
Traditionally, latch hooking starts with a blank canvas and a pattern to follow. Plus, you’d have to cut all the yarn pieces yourself, which can take forever when you need hundreds of ’em! But what makes our kits so special is that the canvas already has the design printed on it, and we’ve pre-cut all the yarn for you. We’ve even stitched on the backing, so your rug is ready to use as soon as you finish up.
That means you’re guaranteed to be able to complete your masterpiece with zero hassle! You don’t need to be some kind of artistic genius or have any special creative skills. In fact, the whole point of our latch-hooking kits is to make it as easy and empowering as possible for anyone to make something awesome. So go on, dive in and start crafting – you’re gonna love the final result!
Depending on how quickly you work, each rug will typically take between 15-30 hours to complete. What I usually tell people is that it’s about a month’s worth of casual, regular stitching.
So if you can set aside a little bit of time most weeknights – say, while you’re watching TV – you’ll have your very own handmade rug finished in just about a month!
The great thing is, creating your own rug is really all about the journey. Take this time to relax, unwind, and enjoy some guilt-free “me time.” And since the designs are already printed on the canvas, you can easily multitask while you stitch. Go ahead, watch your favorite show or listen to a podcast – it’s the perfect craft for that!
Just take a deep breath, go at your own pace, and savor the experience of creating something beautiful with your own two hands. Before you know it, you’ll have an amazing rug you can be really proud of.
Our rug kits have absolutely everything you need to make your own beautiful, custom rug for your home! Inside, you’ll find:
- A high-quality, pre-backed canvas with the design already printed on it
- All the pre-cut yarn in every color you’ll need, plus some extra for practice and mistakes
- A premium wooden latch hook tool that makes the rug-making process a breeze
- Detailed, easy-to-follow instructions to guide you through the project
We even include a QR code that lets you access our online video tutorials, just in case you need a little extra help along the way.
The only other thing you’ll need is a good pair of scissors. We recommend using medium-sized, sharp scissors to get clean, precise cuts on the yarn. Our “Rug Trimming Scissors” are perfect for the job – they’re super sharp, made of high-quality steel, and they even look great sitting in your craft supplies!
But you can really use any scissors you’re comfortable with. The key is just making sure they’re nice and sharp so you can work efficiently on your rug.
For the yarn, we use acrylic. This allows us to make the rugs a nice big size, while still keeping the kits affordable and accessible for everyone.
And for the latch hook tool itself, we use premium materials – it’s made from sturdy stainless steel and wood. These hooks are built to last, so you can use them again and again for all your latch-hooking projects.
The size of each rug can vary a bit depending on the specific design. You can find the exact measurements for each one listed on the product page.
In general, our larger rugs are about the size of a standard bath mat – around 60-70 cm (24-27 inches) in diameter, depending on the design.
However, we’ve actually been working on reducing the rug sizes just a bit recently. We got a lot of feedback that the rugs were really fun to make, but the larger sizes took a long time to complete.
So our new rug sizes are going to be a little smaller, around 48-50 cm (19-20 inches) in diameter. This makes them big enough to make a nice statement in your space, but small enough that you can finish the project more quickly.
The only additional thing you’ll need for any of our craft kits is a good pair of scissors.
For the rug making kits specifically, we recommend using medium-sized scissors that are nice and sharp. This will help you get clean, precise cuts on the yarn. You can really use any scissors you’re comfortable with, but we’re big fans of our “Rug Trimming Scissors.” They’re the perfect size for working on the rugs, they’re extra sharp, and they’re made from high-quality steel. Plus, they look pretty darn cute sitting in your craft supplies!
Now, if you’re working on a cross stitch kit, you’ll want to use either small or medium-sized scissors – try to avoid those big kitchen shears if possible. Both “Embroidery Scissors” and “Rug Trimming Scissors” work great for cross stitching. The key is having a sharp, precise blade that’s perfect for snipping the thread.
The great thing is, our rugs are designed with a sturdy backing, so you can display them right on your floor as soon as you’re done! Super easy.
If you’d rather display it at eye level, our rugs also work really well hung on the wall, just like a poster or tapestry. Check out our next FAQ for some tips on how to hang them up.
And we have to mention – pets absolutely love our rugs! Seriously, if you have a cat, dog, or any other furry friend, they’re going to be all over your new handmade rug. That’s why we really recommend using it as a cozy pet bed. Your four-legged family member will be so grateful!
Beyond that, our rugs also make great decorative throws for your bed or sofa. Drape one over the back of a chair, or layer it with some throw pillows – there are so many fun ways to incorporate your handmade piece into your home decor.
We definitely don’t recommend putting your handmade rug in the washing machine. Since this is a special, one-of-a-kind piece, it needs to be handled with extra care to make sure it lasts.
The best way to clean it is by hand-washing. Use either cold or lukewarm water, along with a mild detergent. Let the rug soak for a few minutes to remove any general dirt or grime, then lay it flat to air dry.
If you have a specific stain you need to tackle, you can give that area a gentle scrub with your hands while it’s soaking.
In a real emergency, like if you spill something that leaves a stubborn stain, you can actually remove just the affected yarn pieces and re-latch-hook new ones using the extra yarn that came with your kit. This is a good quick fix, but we don’t recommend trying to re-do larger sections of the rug.

Cross Stitch Kits
Cross stitching is a type of embroidery that’s often seen as the easier, more beginner-friendly version. It involves stitching little ‘x’ shapes into a pre-made fabric grid, and these ‘x’s come together to create a picture – kind of like pixel art!
The fabric used is called Aida cloth, and it has a grid-like pattern of tiny holes. To cross stitch, you start from the middle of the fabric (where the red guidelines are) and count out the spaces, stitching an ‘x’ wherever the colored squares are on your pattern.
The great thing about cross stitching is that it doesn’t require any previous embroidery skills. Since you’re only making those simple ‘x’ stitches, it’s super foolproof. There’s no need to master different stitch types, and it’s easy to fix any mistakes by just unsticking the thread.
Basically, as long as you can count and follow a pattern, you’ve got all the skills you need to start cross stitching! It’s a really approachable, beginner-friendly craft.
Our cross stitch kits have everything you need to create your own beautiful, wall-worthy piece! Inside, you’ll find:
- High-quality, fray-resistant Aida fabric
- An embroidery hoop (or 3 mini hoops for our smaller kits)
- An easy-to-follow pattern and instructions
- Full skeins of 100% cotton thread in all the colors you’ll need
- 2 needles and needle threaders
- Ribbon to display your finished project
One of the things that makes our kits so special is that we give you full skeins of thread for every single color. That’s a ton of extra thread – enough to complete your project multiple times over!
We do this because we want you to be able to start building your own thread collection that you can use for future craft projects as your skills grow. How cool is that?
The only other thing you’ll need is a good pair of scissors. We recommend using small or medium-sized scissors, like our “Embroidery Scissors” or “Rug Trimming Scissors.” They have a nice sharp, precise blade that’s perfect for cross stitching.
And the best part is, we’ve already done a lot of the hard work for you. The Aida fabric has the design pre-printed, and the yarn is all pre-cut. You just need to follow the pattern to start stitching – no creative skills required! It’s all about empowering your crafty side and having fun.
Overall, you can expect a cross stitch project to take anywhere from 4 to 20 hours total. If you’re new to cross stitching, it might take a little while to get the hang of it and stitch faster. But if you’ve done it before, you can likely whip through it pretty quickly while watching TV or listening to a podcast.
The most important thing is to enjoy the process. Take your time, relax, and savor the satisfaction of creating something with your own hands. We always recommend putting on a good show or playlist to make it an extra cozy, guilt-free “me time” activity.
We’ve made a big effort to use sustainable, eco-friendly packaging for all our kits. Everything is 100% recyclable, and we’ve minimized the use of plastic as much as possible.
Depending on the specific design you order, your cross stitch kit will come either in a cardboard box or a sturdy A4-sized cardboard envelope. We’re actually in the process of transitioning all our kits to the boxed packaging, since it works better for storage in our warehouse. But we’re doing this gradually to avoid any unnecessary waste.
As for the small amount of plastic that is still used, that’s also 100% recyclable. You can just take it to the soft plastics recycling bin at your local grocery store.
For Gifts
Absolutely! We’re proud to say that our latch-hooking kits are a fantastic option for someone who’s recently been through surgery or needs to spend time recovering at home. Here’s why:
Latch-hooking is a really comfortable, low-impact craft that can be done easily from bed. Our premium tools and materials are much easier to work with than lower-quality alternatives. Plus, the larger stitch size and bright, pre-printed designs make it a great choice for someone who might have limited vision or hand strength.
And the best part is, latch-hooking is very forgiving – even if mistakes are made, the finished piece will still look beautiful. It’s a wonderfully relaxing, confidence-building activity.
Our other kits like moss, embroidery, and cross stitch can also work well for someone in recovery, but they each have a few unique considerations:
- Moss kits have a lot of different stitches and materials, so they may take up more space on the bed. And the instructions are digital-only.
- Embroidery and cross stitch are more compact, but require a bit more dexterity and eyesight, so good lighting and glasses may be needed.
Overall, any of our craft kits can make a thoughtful, therapeutic gift to help your loved one pass the time comfortably while they focus on healing. Just consider their specific needs and limitations when deciding which one might be the best fit.
No problem! We don’t include any pricing details or packing lists inside our kits. That way, they’re all ready to go directly to your loved one without revealing the cost.
You’ll find all the order information, including the price, in the digital receipts and emails we send you. But the physical kit itself will arrive price-free, making it a nice, thoughtful gift.
Unfortunately, no – we’re not able to add handwritten notes to orders at this time. While our warehouse team does have great penmanship, they simply don’t have the capacity to write individual notes for every single order we receive.
I know a personalized touch can make a gift feel extra special. If you’d like, you could always include a separate note or card when you send the kit to your recipient. That way, you can write them a heartfelt message yourself.
